Since her first feature film appearance, a César-nominated turn in André Téchiné’s 1993 My Favorite Season, Chiara Mastroianni has been a force to be reckoned with in international cinema. Effortlessly elegant and a gifted comedienne capable of enormous ferocity, Mastroianni has been an invaluable presence in films by such diverse talents as Raul Ruiz (1999’s Time Regained, appearing opposite her mother Catherine Deneuve), Manoel de Oliveira (1999’s The Letter), Arnaud Desplechin (2008’s A Christmas Tale), Claire Denis (2013’s Bastards), and many, many others, most recently reuniting triumphantly with favorite collaborator Christophe Honoré to star in On a Magical Night, which won her the Un Certain Regard Best Performance award at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival. Born in a family steeped in cinema lore, having created a rich legacy of her own, Mastroianni will give us a little film history and share two of the movies of her life in a Dream Double Feature.
