Sam Neill x 2

October 3

Though he’s become Internet famous of late as an amiable New Zealand gentleman farmer, Sam Neill as a film actor could be a performer of frightening intensity, as evidenced in his relentlessly unhinged role in Andrzej Żuławski’s Possession (1981). This two-film sidebar showcases Neill at his most deranged, in John Carpenter’s In the Mouth of Madness (1994), as well as at his most craggily charming--he was a James Mason protege, after all--in Steven Spielberg's Jurassic Park (1993).
