March 7 to May 3

Welcome to Metrograph Matinees, 11am screenings that get out just in time for brunch upstairs in the Commissary. On weekend mornings, we’re offering good strong coffee and an eclectic mix of movies that runs the gamut from low-brow to high, and leaves out the mediocre and mundane. In this inaugural edition, see the late Kirk Douglas practice his wicked wiles in Minnelli's The Bad and the Beautiful, breakout works by Sofia Coppola (The Virgin Suicides) and Stanley Kubrick (The Killing), and selections that are both kid-friendly (Moon Pilot) and decidedly not (Jean-Luc Godard’s Weekend!). When you’re done, the cocktails will be waiting.
